You’ll learn:

  1. What Pens and Nibs I love the best & why.

  2. How to prep your nibs before you write.

  3. What paper to use so the ink doesn’t bleed on the page.

  4. The best way to use the pen and dipping ink.

  5. How to write with this pen to create beautiful lettering that’s all your own.

  6. You’ll start an almost daily gratitude practice during class using this non-traditional writing style.

I’ve been writing with a dipping pen and ink for 30 years.
I saw amazing signage inside a boutique shop in Minneapolis, where I was living at the time, and I asked the gal behind the counter who wrote the words because it was incredible to look at. She told me she did it and told me she just used her own handwriting with a dipping pen and ink and played around until it worked for her.

That was how it started for me. I haven’t studied formal calligraphy and I don’t really want to. I prefer the experience of taking my own handwriting and and making unique lettering that doesn’t look like anything else out there.

And as you can see in my timelapse videos I don’t like writing in a straight line. I love the creativity practice of just being in the moment and following the push and pull of the pen and using it to guide each next letter, each word and each flowing curving line.

Fall in Love with the act and the art of writing

and the experience of gratitude in motion.

No experience necessary.

Just a willingness to not be perfect at it right away

allowing yourself to make a mess and have fun with the process.

**You’ll need to purchase a dipping pen and ink and some paper to practice on. I found some options on Amazon, but you can also go to a local art supply store. Pricing will vary based on your picks. A list of supplies will be sent to you once you’ve signed up for a spot in the class.
